You Are Not Behind in Life—You're Right on Schedule | Ep. 77
Have you ever looked at someone else's life and felt hopelessly behind? That gnawing feeling that everyone else has figured it out while you're still struggling to find your way? You're not alone.
Divine timing is more than a spiritual concept—it's a powerful reframe that can transform how you view your life's journey. In this episode, we explore why the anxiety of feeling "behind" is largely based on artificial timelines and social media comparisons that don't reflect reality. Some of the most inspiring success stories involve complete transformations during seasons when society falsely claims we should be "settled." I share practical ways to trust your timing: setting personal goals without rigid deadlines, taking aligned action, practicing patience, and celebrating progress rather than fixating on outcomes or comparisons.
Remember what looks like a delay is often a redirection toward something better aligned with your highest good. Those who've achieved what you're working toward rarely judge others on similar paths—they're usually the most supportive. Your desires and everything you're working toward will arrive at the perfect time. You aren't behind; you're exactly where you need to be, learning exactly what you need to learn. Trust the process, embrace your unique timeline, and watch how beautifully your life unfolds.

Aliya Cheyanne:April is National Minority Health Month, so before we jump into today's topic, I want to share a quick wellness tip that aligns with the episode. Prioritize mental health. Anxiety about timelines can impact mental well-being. Tools like therapy journaling and self-compassion can help to ease anxious feelings. And PS therapy isn't just for crises. Consider talking to a mental health professional or practicing mindfulness to manage stress.
Aliya Cheyanne:Now let's jump into today's topic Trusting divine timing. Why you're not behind in life, child. In this day and age, it is so easy to feel like you're behind in life. We have a level of access to each other and to celebrities and everybody else on social media in ways that weren't even imagined back in the day when so many of us were growing up. We know what they're eating, we know what they're traveling to, we know what they're doing to their bodies, we know what their homes look like, and it's easy to fall into the trap of looking at what other people have and feeling like you're not where you're supposed to be. But here's the thing as people, and depending on what your beliefs are, we've never lived longer than we do now. Think about it For many people today, midlife is 30, 40, 50, or greater. Comparison is the thief of joy.
Aliya Cheyanne:Instead of feeling like you're behind in life, can you trust in the knowing and the season and the timing of your life and know that you are actually right on time, depending on your beliefs? We're all just doing life for the first time. We're all figuring this thing out day by day. And behind by whose timeline, anyway? Who says? I see so many powerhouse women, especially who are just finding their stride in their fifties or in their forties, or who started their young adulthood out in one way and who have completely transformed and pivoted and built new lives for themselves, during a season where people in this society will make you believe that there is no possibility for change, there's no possibility for reinvention, and you just shrivel up and don't do anything else. You're not behind. You're actually right on time to start over, if that's what you want to do. You can't compare your journey to anyone else's, because you don't know exactly what steps they took to get there. And potentially, if you found out, potentially if you did know, you might not desire their life as much as you thought you did. Trust in the divine timing of your life. Know that what is for you will not miss. You Know that if you desire to make significant change, to start over, to pivot, to reinvent yourself, you have ample time to do so.
Aliya Cheyanne:Timelines are personal. We don't all operate on the same one. Societal pressure should never dictate your own personal timing. You know what's right for you and when. And sure there may be things that by now you thought you would have had or that you desired to have had by now, and maybe in your own personal timeline they haven't worked out yet. And perhaps societal pressures are making you doubt yourself and question yourself. But I need you to trust and believe that your season is coming, if it hasn't arrived yet already.
Aliya Cheyanne:Sometimes delays are often redirections. And guess what those delays? They're often redirection. And guess what else those delays? They're often a redirection. Focus on practical ways to trust your own timing Sure, write down your goals, keep them in mind, keep working toward them and believe that your aligned action will undoubtedly call in exactly what you need, exactly what is worthy of you and exactly what you deserve.
Aliya Cheyanne:Try your best not to let the anxiety of societal pressure alter you from your course. Embrace your own unique timeline. Trust in your inner knowing and don't compare yourself to anyone. If you're someone who's out here trying to build something for yourself and maybe you feel like you haven't reached the level of success or attainment that you desired yet, trust that if you keep putting in the work, it will all work out for you. And guess what? Other people who are on the same path of trying to build something for themselves, or who have built something for themselves, will never look down on the next person trying to do the same. In fact, many of them are often inclined to help you even more.
Aliya Cheyanne:So trust that what you desire, what you're working for, so trust that the desires of your heart, everything that you're working toward, will arrive in aligned time. Don't fret and don't worry yourself over anything. It is all working out for you in divine timing. You've got this, don't doubt that, and be sure to try out this week's wellness tip and let me know how it impacts you. Thanks for tuning in to another short but sweet episode.
